Regarded as one of the quickest men in SA rugby, Daniels’ stocky, short frame only makes him harder to catch.
Highlights in 2001 included a quartet of tries against the Griffons in the Currie Cup and a hat-trick against Griquas in the Vodacom Cup. Overall at provincial level, he boasts the impressive statistic of 66 tries from 63 matches. Involved with the Stormers in the last three campaigns, Daniels has been drafted to the Cats this year. A former Emerging Springbok, he was originally from the Eastern Cape, but grew up in the Winelands just outside Cape Town where he attended Ceres Secondary School. A Prison warden, the softly spoken Daniels’ nickname is ‘Chiver’.
