Although the 1891 British team had a flawless tour record with only one point conceded
on that first tour to South Africa, the 1974 British & Irish Lions must rate as the
best touring team of all British tours to South Africa. Not only were they unbeaten in 22
matches, but they scored a record 729 points with 107 tries, only the second touring side
to South Africa to score more than 100 tries. |
