Founded: 1969 (as South East Transvaal)
Home Ground: Mbombela Stadium, Bafana Road, Mataffin, Nelspruit
The Pumas recently moved their headquarters from Witbank, in the heart of South Africa's coal mining area, to Nelspruit, where they now play their rugby out of the beautiful Mbombela Stadium, built for the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup. They have never shielded away from the physical stuff. Mpumalanga, one of South Africa's nine provinces, is mostly farm land, which means that most players at the Pumas are tough men from the platteland. Formed in 1969 as South Eastern Transvaal, the Pumas is one of the younger unions in the country.
