The mighty Blue Bulls from Pretoria is one of the most successful provincial unions in South Africa. Formerly known as Northern Transvaal, this light blue clad team has won almost every trophy on offer, from the Vodacom Super 14 and Absa Currie Cup down to Provincial Amateur and age-group rugby. Loftus Versfeld, the home of the Bulls, is one of the most intimidating venues around the world to play at, especially when a sea of 50,000 vocal supporters dressed in blue, greet visiting teams as they run out of the tunnel. The Blue Bulls Rugby Union celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2008.
