There will be five former Springboks traveling down to Cape Town with The Sharks when they take on DHL Western Province on Saturday in their opening fixture of the Absa Currie Cup’s Premier Division.
Four of them, Odwa Ndungane, Jean Deysel, Riaan Viljoen and Meyer Bosman will start the match, with Marius Joubert playing off the bench.
Deysel has been named captain by coach John Plumtree, who will take extended leave after this match.
Tim Whitehead and Pieter Steph du Toit was ruled out due to injury, while Charl McLeod and Anton Bresler will be rested after their testing Vodacom Super Rugby travels.
